Dear Parents,
We are excited for all of our LVUSD fifth grade students to participate in a comprehensive local Outdoor Education Program! This year's program is a 4-night/5-day experience provided by WOLF Adventures at Camp Gilmore, a beautiful campsite located between Tapia and Malibu Creek State Park. Our students will enjoy a fun-filled, traditional outdoor education with standards-based lessons as well as leadership and team-building activities. WOLF Adventures relates science and history-social science concepts to locally important issues and resources while helping students make a lasting connection with nature.
The cost per student is $495.00. This fee includes overnight
accommodations, food, insurance, transportation, and
instruction. Please make an online debit or credit card payment
using this PayPal link.
If you will be making a single payment for the full amount, please
submit your payment at least fifteen days prior to your student’s
scheduled week of Outdoor Education.
If you choose to make 4 equal payments, the first payment is due by November 30, 2022. If the first payment is not made by November 30, 2022, the entire amount must be paid at least 15 days prior to your student's scheduled week of Outdoor Education.
You may also make a donation here for another LVUSD 5th grader to attend Outdoor Education.
No child will be denied Outdoor Education based on an inability to pay. Click here to request Financial Assistance.
Outdoor Education is an important part of the elementary school experience here at LVUSD and we anticipate 100% participation from our fifth graders. But, we do understand that there are certain circumstances under which a student may need to cancel. Cancellations made at least ten days prior to the program start date will be refunded, less a cancellation fee of $150.00. Cancellations made within ten days of the program start date are considered “no shows” and refunds are not possible.
Please email Leslie Timbers at ltimbers@lvusd.org if you have any questions or need further information.
Sincerely,
Jana Davenport
Director of Elementary Education
